Yes. Plenty of power for wakeboarding and tubing with the Mercury® 115 HP outboard. Performance comparable to an 18-foot similarly powered boat. Turbo bar for towing can be added as a tow point engineered for water sports use.
USCG capacity is 4 persons / 850 lbs maximum passenger weight. Standard boating regulations apply — children should wear appropriate PFDs. No specific age restrictions beyond normal boating safety guidelines.
Most buyers pay cash or arrange their own financing through marine lenders or specialty vehicle financing companies.

From previous experience. Extremely well. Limited production. High demand. Long wait lists. No direct competition. Previous WaterCar models have even appreciated in value. This is a collectible vehicle with genuine utility — rare combination. Of course this all depends on how it was maintained by the owner.
Absolutely capable. Rod holders available. Fishfinder integration through the Simrad® chartplotter. Stable platform for casting and landing fish. Many owners use theirs for fishing — drive to the best spots that trailered boats can’t easily access.
Practical storage for a day on the water: coolers, gear bags, fishing equipment, water sports gear. Standard layouts prioritize passenger comfort and functionality over maximum cargo volume but other options are available.
Designed for all-day comfort. Marine-grade upholstery. Ergonomic seating positions. The tri-hull design provides a stable, comfortable platform whether cruising, anchored, or at rest. Premium vessel comfort in an amphibious package.
Nearly every component is a name-brand OEM part available worldwide. Mercury® dealers are everywhere. Wilwood®, Eibach®, Victron®, Simrad® — all have global distribution. Unlike obscure amphibious vehicles with proprietary unobtainium parts, the WaterCar EV is designed to be serviceable and repairable anywhere.
Most routine maintenance is owner-accessible if you’re mechanically inclined. Oil changes, inspections, battery monitoring, general upkeep — all straightforward. For the more specialized systems — hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, outboard lower unit work — we recommend a qualified technician but these all can be self serviced also as many of the parts are readily available.
No. Standard outboard maintenance for the Mercury® engine — lower unit service, winterization where applicable. Standard electric vehicle maintenance for the ProDrive™ system — minimal, mostly inspections. We have found any marine or automotive technician can service it using readily available OEM parts. This is inherent to the design, can be serviced locally or anywhere in the world, as we ship vehicles to some of the most remote locations in the world.
Treat it like a boat, so it is built for decades of use with proper maintenance. The all-welded aluminum hull doesn’t rust or rot. LiFePO4 batteries are rated for 3,000+ cycles. Mercury® outboards routinely last 1,500+ hours with proper care. Premium components throughout are designed for longevity. This is heirloom-quality construction.
Standard 110V household outlet — plug in overnight for the 48 volt battery, also included is 12 volt Victron Energy® marine charger. Full charge in 6–8 hours. No special electrical installation required. The chargers can accommodate 110V-250V if specified what is needed. But to be clear no special EV chargers are required, standard residential plug is all that is required.
Yes. Operates like any 19-foot boat at marinas, fuel docks, and slips. Drive to the marina, launch at any ramp, dock normally for fuel or dining, then drive home. No need to retrieve a trailer — just drive out of the water and onto the road.
Open cockpit design similar to a sport boat. The WaterCar EV is a dry boat handling water travel very well.
The WaterCar EV is designed as a recreational vehicle for water access, not a daily commuter. The 25 mph LSV speed limit and 20-mile electric range make it ideal for coastal communities, lake houses, waterfront properties, and resort areas — but not for highway commuting or long-distance daily driving. Most owners use it for what it does best: spontaneous access to the water without the hassle of trailering.
